Trees by Joyce Kilmer
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the various pages of this web site.  We appreciate your feedback and
suggestions, they are always welcome.
THE OLD PINE BOX exists to make the death process easier for those
who must endure it.  Please let us know how we may be able to assist you.  To those of you who allow us to
provide the final resting place for yourself or your loved ones, we thank you for the trust and the honor.
Established in 2004 and located in Edgewood, New Mexico just one mile off historic Route
66,
THE OLD PINE BOX is the inspiration of owner/operator Dienna Genther whose
objective is to provide quality, handcrafted solid wood coffins at an affordable price.
Dienna Genther was born and raised in the extreme northwest
corner of Washington State and from that Evergreen birthplace
she acquired a great love and respect for trees. In her young
years that love grew to include the transforming of tree material
into wonderful objects of art known to most people simply as
furniture.
She spent the first part of her adult life as a remodel carpenter.
Although a valuable and satisfying career spent in the company
of fine and talented individuals, the brutal demands of
construction and long, damp, gray months of Washington
winters began to wear on her.  New Mexico drew her south to
its enchanting land of vast sky and brilliant sun where she had
to fathom a new career.
Dienna did not just want to make a living, she wanted  to make
a difference.
Spending the first half of her life amassing skills,
she wanted to spend the second using those skills in
a meaningful way.
Finish & Art:  After retiring from the Air Force and with no particular inspiration of
her own, Corinne Marie joined her little sister Dienna at
THE OLD PINE BOX.  Once
taught how to achieve that “smooth as glass” finish on wood, as with tobacco, Corinne
was immediately hooked and has become “master sander”.  A self taught artist and
compulsive painter, Corinne instantly took to staining and burning images into wood
and continues to adorn our products with any art requested.
Interiors: Christine Siano is the creator of our lovingly crafted interiors.  An intuitive
seamstress, we suspect she quilted the interior of the womb she was conceived in.
Christine came on board with
THE OLD PINE BOX as a result of her intense need to
experience every color combination of the southwest blanket.
Web Master:  Craig Genther is one of Dienna’s two older brothers.  He is now retired
after serving 20 years in the Air Force and provides information technology consulting
for
THE OLD PINE BOX.  He has not only been able to improve and maintain our
continuously evolving web site but has made it fly, stay on the radar, land, and take off
again.  On behalf of a grateful business we wholeheartedly appreciate his steadfast
performance and outstanding achievements.
Serenity:  Cider and Stanley - supreme feline beings.  Perform no productive functions
whatsoever.
Reception:  Terra is a one dog welcoming committee.  Visitors are encouraged and
always appreciated at
THE OLD PINE BOX.
THE OLD PINE BOX seemed the answer to that
dilemma.  She could use her talents to craft beautiful
coffins for people who might otherwise be unable to
afford one and use her knowledge to create natural, earth
friendly vessels for people who are offended by
hermetically sealed boxes with inner-spring mattresses.
A business to educate people about their options...people
who might otherwise be manipulated in their grief...
Dienna could think of nothing more meaningful than this.
